Inspiration derived from listening to Defying Gravity from Wicked, Titanium, and Let It Go while bored out of my mind on a bus ride to work.

Amethyst pawed the ground with a fore hoof in impatience. She was taking much too long.

"I AM TI-TAN-I-UM!" She sang, at the top of her lungs, her voice almost cracking from the effort.

Amethyst rolled his eyes and whinnied for her to, "get her ass down here now".

She continued singing, ignoring Amethyst, "YOU SHOOT ME DOWN! BUT I WON'T FALL! I AM TITANIUM!"

Must I spell it out for her? Amethyst thought and shook his mane in resignation and annoyance, knowing nothing he would say or do would break her out of her moment. However, they really had to get going or else they would be late. After a sigh, he climbed the cliff and nudged her in the shoulder.

Come on, he thought, nudging her again. She didn't budge.

"It's too late for second-guessing. Too late to go back to sleep. It's time to trust my instincts, close my eyes, and leap." She whispered and stepped off the precipice.

Not again, Amethyst thought. Nonetheless, he went to the edge and peered down into the darkness.

"It's time to try, defying gravity. I think I'll try, defying gravity, and you can't pull me down." He heard her voice echo from the chasm but still couldn't see her.

"Kiss me goodbye, I'm defying gravity and you can't pull me down."

Amethyst felt a gush of wind, saw a blur of grey, and heard the rustling of feathers as she rose into the sky on angel-like wings.

"I'm DEFYING GRAVITY! I'M FLYING HIGH! DEFYING GRAVITY!" She bellowed at the top of her lungs, gliding in a figure of eight high above the horse.

"Ok, that's enough. It's time we go." Amethyst said finally.

The winged one paused, hovering in front of him, feathers and toes just above the earth.

"Time to go?" She asked. Amethyst nodded.

"Time to let it go?" She asked, grinning. Amethyst cast her a baleful glare and stomped a hoof into the ground.

"LET IT GO! LET IT GO! And I'll rise like the break of dawn!" She sang, and dived into the chasm once more.

Oh no, Amethyst thought and settled down into a comfortable position, giving a long deep sigh of resignation that she wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. It looks as though they were going to be late after all.

The music stops. I look at what I've written, as if coming out of a daze and think, "What the fuck did I just write?"
I told you I'd give you a story! Just not one that you were expecting :D Ok, it's more of an inchoerent drabble than a proper story but there is a proper story on the way. But this is why I never let my mind wander when listening to music. In fact, it's better if my mind doesn't wander at all! All sorts of crazy conversations and scenarios occurr in my mind, this being just one of many.

Anyway, I figured I'd be kind a give you guys (at least those who are interested) a preview of the story I'm in the process of writing. I'm calling it 'An Extract from the Diary of a School Student'. Pretty self-explanatory but you will get the perspective from the following sneak peak. Expect to see in a couple days time.
Grayson insists I keep a record of my daily activities, thoughts, and desires. If I fail in this task he threatens to give me 'brotherly love' as he calls it, claiming he will trap me in a hug and keep me pinned there until I agree to watch that ridiculous waste of time called Star Wars. All six episodes of them. Since I don't want to endure that torture and his incessant, and highly irritating quips, and 'unique sense of humour' as he calls it, I shall write daily entries into this journal.
